Many enjoy racing slot cars because they allow you to re-create what you can only imagine from watching a race, except you are in control of the car. The slot cars are realistic reproductions of some of your favorite racing styles representing Formula One, NASCAR, Gran Touring, Vintage, Muscle Cars and Street racing.
At Slot Car Speedway, we receive many questions about selecting a slot car race set to get started. What we recommend is to select a scale size that you have the space to accommodate (see Frequently Asked Questions on scale sizes). Then select the brand such as Artin, Carrera Go or Carrera Evolution or SCX.
Once you know the size scale and brand, you should choose a slot car set with a layout that offers the most track flexiblity for your designated space allocation. You will have everyithing in a set to get started racing including the slot car track, transformer, controllers and cars.
If you want to change the slot car race track layout or length of the track, Artin, Carrera and SCX all offer additional extension sets and pieces. Another way to expand and enjoy slot car racing is to add cars from different racing styles.
